Preparation for Hurricane Florence

Published on 9/12/2018
Friends, we are writing to urge everyone to prepare for potentially severe weather in the coming days.  While the 5-day projections of Hurricane Florence's path are theoretical, the current path projects the s on track toward upper SC:

While we do not wish to alarm our members, we believe it is wise to prepare for the likelihood of a severe storm that may include loss of power for several days.  To that end we urge you to make sure you have on hand:

1.  Adequate drinking water in case of a power outage.  Ready.gov recommends at least one gallon per person per day.
2.  At least a three day supply of non-perishable food.
3.  Working flashlights and enough batteries to power them.
4.  If you use prescription medicines, make sure you have enough medicine to last you through the end of next week.  If you need help refilling medicines call us at 828 295 2412.
5.  If you have a car, fill the gas tank.  If the storm comes our way, move your car to a place where it will not be impacted by flooding water or falling trees.
